-A.T.S.U.I- 私の過去の生命を逃すこと Claws shredded through bark as a large leopard attempted to climb a particularly smooth tree. Its branches were too high to jump to, so he had to resort to clawing his way up. Digging deeper, his gray eyes focused on the closest branch, and his back legs tensed. Then, he kicked against the ground and was launched up to where he had aimed. His arms flailed as he tried to get a hold on the smooth bark. He dug in again, then climbed up to the next branch until he was in a rather nice spot. From here, he could see quite a bit below him. Atsui was a leopard looking for something, perhaps love, or even a friend would do good. Loneliness on the Islands were driving him mad, and he was yet to find another of his kind. His black-spotted tail swayed with the wind as it drooped down, reaching a lower branch. The handsome male groomed the fur on his front paws before staring at a bird that fluttered around a little ways away. He had just eaten, so it wasn't looking too appealing. Atsui wondered about some of the females he had traveled with from zoo to zoo, maybe one would remember him? He hadn't really met that many, but maybe someone could reach back and match name with face... The handsome cat let out a deep breath. It was going to be a long day of searching for something worth his time.
At least it was better than being trapped in one of those man-cages.

Medium sized paws lay silently across the branch. Her nails dug softly, making a soft crunch as she dug in again. Kneading the branch, or whatever she happened to be on, was a habit of hers, and would usually cost her lunch. Vana stopped her kneading and watched the flickering of the tail as It waved back and forth. Such a dangerous game she played. Tefoni would slaughter her if she knew. But she didn’t, and that gave Nirvana every right to do what she pleased, even if it meant endangering her own life. Vana didn’t care. Mother Nature had a way of protecting those she held dear to her, if Nature no longer wanted her on this Earth she’d be gone.
But the crossing of paths happened everyday, and most Leopards understood. Except the irritable ones, they were grumpy and always snapped at Nirvana. She’d just have to see how irritable this one was. Pure azul eyes watched the Leopard’s tail as it moved, however often that may be. Bunching her muscles she grinned before pouncing, grabbing his tail and pulling lightly. A soft purr rose from her throat at she let go and climbed higher into the tree. Looking down on him she flashed her eyes at him before looking away, the grin still placed on her thin lips. ”Pleasure meeting another Leopard. I’m Nirvana, an ill fitting name if I do say so myself. And whom,” She stopped and flipped upside down, holding onto the top branch with her back claws as she stared at the larger Leopard. ”Are you?” Twitching her ears she stared at him, waiting ever so patiently for his answer as she hung there.

Atsui noticed his tail getting tugged and quickly recoiled, glancing at Nirvana with piercing gray eyes. Despite that fact, he looked calm and rather peaceful. He didn't like his tail being pulled but it was best not to be rude, and he wasn't one to complain much unless the Leopard really got on his nerves. "Hello, Nirvana," Atsui smiled, showing his glittering, pointed fangs. "I am Atsui, at your service."

A small smile touched her lips as she watched him recoil but calm and composed despite the given situation. His voice made her smile a bit more. Letting her claws retract she fell to his branch and laid there. ”Again, pleasure meeting you Astui. Any particular reason you’re out and about on this beautiful day?” Her eyes glittered as she spoke. Her tail flipped around as her ears twitched. She watched Astui patiently.

Atsui thought a moment. "I'm just here to relax, mainly. Maybe have a little chat with one of the other Leopards," He glanced at her eyes and then watched her tail flip. Then, the male averted his gaze and stared at the ground below him, watching a mouse shoot into a bush. Kind of uncommon. "I really have had nothing to do lately." He purred.

Mmm, relaxation. Such a wonderful thing. Rolling over onto her side she gripped a side branch and scratched her chin. ”Relaxation is a great soul cleanser, at least they say. Personally I just like the peace.” Her scratching stopped and she rolled back over to her belly. Kneading the branch she watched him as he followed the path of a mouse. Would have made a nice snack. Which reminded her that she needed to eat in a few hours, maybe tomorrow. She hasn’t been lucky in the prey area for some time now. Forgetting her worries she listened carefully to his words. He spoke lies; at least that’s how she saw it. ”But this is freedom! We can do anything we please.” She slipped off the branch and fell to the next one down, catching hold of it and swinging for a split second before her muscles bunched and she brought herself atop the branch. She hopped from branch to branch, following scents as she waited for Atsui’s reply. Slowly she made her way back to the branch he was on.
A rustling caught her attention as she was settling back down. Jumping from the branch with ease she clambered down to ground level stealthily. The bush leaves rustled again before Nirvana disturbed the quiet. Pouncing from her position she attacked the bush, feeling around for the mouse that was hidden within. As her claws touched fur she grabbed, hearing the faint squeaks of the tiny rodent. Pulling it from the bush she picked it up carefully and reclimbed the tree, settling back down on Atsui’s branch. She carefully set the mouse down and watched it sit there in terror. Placing a paw over his tail she applied slight pressure so he wouldn’t escape. ”It’s strange, why we hunt such cute animals. Don’t they just make your heart melt?” Softly she let the mouse go and watched him scurry past Atsui and back down the tree to the bush.

What a wonderful day. The sky was as blue as a kingfisher's wing, and the sun blazed orange like a lamp. Pity Duma couldn't get a clear view of it, the rainforest obscured most things. But the forest it'self was also beautiful, the tropical greens in various shades, the ancient trees, and thousands of flowers, like tropical jewls, gleaming pink, blue, orange, red and white, while glittering butterflies flitted around them on fragile wings...
What a wonderful day...
Duma padded along the rainforest floor, stopping every now and them to gaze at the jungle's many curiosities. Duma was un-used to being in such a lush tropical paradise, he was a Persian Leopard, a subspecies from the rocky deserts of Iran. After being locked in the two zoos for many years, the ship wreck seemed like a blessing to the leopards, who established themselves on the Island chain easily. It seemed like pardise...
Duma glanced at a beautiful, snow-white orchid, fascinated as a blue monarch butterfly landed on it's delicate petals. So beautiful... and yet, there are always hidden dangers...
A serated arm lashed out and whipped the butterfly towards it. From the orchid's petals a white shape moved, it's bulbous eyes glittering. An Orchid Mantis, a mimick, to draw in insects to catch, and devour them...
The mantis decapitated the beautiful butterfly, and proceded to eat in peace, ignoring the curious blue eyes that gazed in fascination. And yet, even this macabre little insect, looked beautiful, dainty, with mock "petals" and growths. It swayed like a minute ballet dancer, slowly and methodically chewing a bright blue wing. Beautiful, yet deadly...
There were not many threats in the forest for a fully grown male leopard, and Duma was sure that the leopards were the largest carnivores on the island. But there was a posibility that there were larger animals, yet to be seen by him. He scincirily hoped not...
A mouse leapt down from a tree and scittered past him in terror, eyes wide and bulging with fright. He let the mouse pass. But what had startled it?
Duma looked up and saw two leopards up in the tree, and he smiled. Company, he liked that.
"Hello up there! I am Duma, it is a pleasure to meet you!" he shouted, grinning...

Atsui watched her jump around. "Yes, we can do anything, and I personally chose to relax as long as I can. I don't really enjoy hopping about like a rabbit or monkey," He sighed, a small grin forming on his face. He watched her catch the mouse and free it, then pondered over her question for a few seconds. "I try to ignore it. The big circle of life, and they're just as cute in the afterlife, or wherever they go. If we don't get them, something else will."
Atsui looked down and perked up his ears. Down below was another male. His ears suddenly dropped, and his blood ran cold. Great. Another male? He despised others of his gender for some reason, and he couldn't help it. Maybe it was that they always wanted to fight if he was having a nice chat. He was easy-going and not as territorial as many other males, and he found himself wishing he was the only one on the Island. He promptly turned his head and ignored Duma, his tail flicking in agitation.

The male had appeared not to have heard him. Probably thought Duma wanted a fight. He didn't. He was a very peaceful leopard, who hated violence. But then, the male didn't know that...
Duma took a gathering leap and raked his way powerfully up the tree, and landed in a branch nearby them...
"I'll say again. Hello, I'm Duma. Who might you be? And I hope I'm not interrupting anything" he grinned, stretching...

Atsui turned to look at Duma, his eyes half-closed. He decided to answer anyways. "Right. I'm Atsui." He sighed, flicking a bit of dirt off from his fur with a claw. Duma seemed to not be aggressive, but that didn't change the fact that Atsui wasn't exactly... happy to see him.
He knew it was incredibly rude but he was stuck with his opinion.

Nirvana’s ears twitched as a voice rose up from the ground. Without hesitation she looked over the edge of the branch and blinked as she watched the larger leopard. She smiled at his friendly greeting. For a few moments she looked back at Atsui and listened to his words, thinking them over quickly. He had a point. Relaxation had its wonderful effects. But she personally loved being active, it gave her a sense of living life to its fullest potential possible. ”Well, we all have our own views and preferences. I’m not going to try and sway yours; respecting the fact that everybody has free will.” After speaking she looked back down to the other male and her tail twitched with curiosity. However, Nirvana was not blind to Atsui’s obvious ignorance of him. It seemed strange to her, not greeting somebody just because of gender, subspecies, coloring, ect. It just seemed so … rude and self centered. Not that she was judging Atsui for his actions.
Vana watched patiently for her chance to introduce herself politely while the stranger worked his way up the tree and settled on a branch nearby. It obviously bothered Atsui. His curt answer to the friendly hello confused her. She gave it some thought before she was interrupted by Duma’s question. ”Pleasure to meet yet another leopard, Duma. I’m Nirvana, but don’t be misled by my ill fitting name. At least one of us is being nice while being so kindly greeted by another addition to the company. Can never have too many leopards to talk to.” She glanced at Atsui from the corner of her eye, giving him a somewhat questioning glare. ”And what may explain the appearance of another?” She wasn’t ignoring Atsui, he just hadn’t spoken yet. When he did she’d make a point of it to answer right away just he didn’t feel left out.

Duma grinned. The female was much less sharp the the male."Why it is a pleasure to meet you Nirvana. I was just wandering about our beautiful new home, and then I heard you. I havn't seen many leopards, so I decided to introduce myself" he smiled again, settling down on his branch. "And what would you two be doing out here on a beautiful day like this?"he said...
(Lol thanks, merry christmas to you too)

Vana’s eyes moved between the two leopards with curiosity. At the sound of Duma’s voice she quickly turned back to him and smiled. It was a beautiful place they now lived in, better than those awful cages with the already dead food. She hated not being able to use her instinct to hunt. Plus the steaks tasted funny with all the vitamins they packed into them, it was so horrible. ”We’ve dispersed ourselves among the islands, just have to look hard enough I guess.” His question came shortly after she had answered his first statement. ”I was just lounging when Atsui came up the tree and started his own session of lounge time. It was very peaceful, not that I’m angry at the company I have now. To be alone is to be truly abandoned.”

"Yes I see what you mean, I am rather sociable myself" Duma yawned and stretched a bit, before leaping up to the branch slightly above them, and lying down, draping his spotted frame over the wood...
(Sorry, writers block lol)
